This is a group circle where we playfully explore ‘auto-colouring’ and mark-making. We usually start with a guided somatic practice to help us arrive and be open to this process. From there, we allow creative impulses that emerge to flows through our bodies-hearts-arms-fingers, playing with different kinds of marks, colour, pressure, position, thickness etc.

The goal is not to paint a perfect picture. Rather to simply notice what is flowing in the moment and allow it to happen through colours and mark-making— hence the term ‘auto’-colouring.

Play is a big part of this! We enter an open-ended, playful unfurling process- through sensation, rhythm, and flow. Each of us is invited to explore our unique creative impulses at our own pace- at some level we all engaged with and remember this kind of practice in mark-making as children*-* read about it here.
The goal is not to paint a perfect picture, neither to express or capture how we feel (although this might happen). Rather we want to simply notice what is flowing in the moment and allow it to happen- hence the term ‘auto’-colouring. We may also tune into the sensations/ images/ emotional landscapes that might emerge through the process.
This space is open to all, no prior art experience needed. The goal is not to make pretty pictures, but rather to sink into a non-judgemental, agenda-free portal to explore and connect with our innate playful and creative tendencies.
Sessions usually last 60-90 minutes. We meet both online and in-person- check our schedule on instagram for upcoming sessions.
It is a non-prescriptive, process-oriented space. While we may not focus on colouring techniques as such, it often happens that participants start to play with different techniques that they notice or spontaneously come up in the moment. You are welcome to be in silence, or in conversation, or in your own music- whatever is available for you.
While this time together can feel therapeutic, it is not a space that offers 'therapy', atleast in the way that modern western lenses see therapy. You are welcome to invite your friends/loved ones into the physical space to share in this together- l've often found that this can be very enjoyable.
This practice has flowed through me for many years, evolving as a combination of two areas: my practice, training in various somatic traditions, and my engagment in different media and art-making practices. As I facilitate the practice, I meet the moment and am responsive to what emerges, in collaboration with ancestors, guides, neural, fungal, and satellite networks, animist and spirit flows.
These are offered both for free as well as a nominal sliding scale exchange- depending on the session. To sign up, get in touch with me: WhatsApp.comBindu D
